Christantus Uche Fuels Straightforward Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their first-ever European campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
Another three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the last 16, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match offered a chance for several Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in match.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.
Dominance Asserted from the Start

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
